FirstBank Underwrites Inaugural CCU Leadership Award; Anna Sconyers Named First Recipient

Colorado Christian University (CCU) is honored to partner with FirstBank, one of the nation’s largest privately held and top-performing banks with a focus on “banking for good,” whose generous gift of $25,000 has underwritten the cash prize for the inaugural CCU Leadership Award. The award was presented to graduating senior Anna Sconyers during the College of Undergraduate Studies Commencement ceremony, where the University community gathered to celebrate its 2025 graduates.

CCU Men's Golf Team Earns First-Ever NCAA Regional Title, Advances to National Championships

Colorado Christian University (CCU) proudly announces that its men's golf team has secured its first-ever NCAA Division II West/South Central Regional Championship title. The Cougars achieved this historic milestone at the Victoria Club in Riverside, California, from May 8–10, 2025, with a commanding 14-stroke victory and a team score of 818 (-46).

CCU Cougars Dominate RMAC Tournament, Earn Spot in NCAA Regionals

The Colorado Christian University Cougars proved they were deserving hosts of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Tournament by winning three straight games and capturing the RMAC crown with a 6–0 victory over Colorado Mesa on May 3 at Dee Welsch Field.

The half-day event featured a student senate luncheon, book forum, and a moderated lecture with CCU President Eric K. Hogue at the McDonald Performance Hall. Adams, author of Hollowed Out: A Warning About America's Next Generation, shared timely insights into the cultural and educational challenges facing today's youth, drawing from over 25 years of experience teaching government and economics in California.

CCU Women’s Golf Achieves Stellar Second-Place Finish at RMAC Championships

The Colorado Christian University (CCU) women's golf team delivered an impressive performance at the 2025 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Championships, held April 20–22 at Boulder Creek Golf Club. The Cougars secured a tie for second place with a team score of 887 (291-296-300), marking one of the program's strongest showings in recent years.

Centennial Institute at Colorado Christian University Launches ‘Last Lecture Series’

The Centennial Institute at Colorado Christian University has launched its “Last Lecture Series,” inviting CCU professors to share their wisdom with the next generation and inspire them to pursue faith and truth with new insight. Inspired by the story of former Carnegie Mellon professor Randy Pausch who, after receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis, presented a final lecture of lessons he had always wanted to share with his students, Centennial Institute posed the question: “If this was your last chance to address your students, how would you summarize your accumulated wisdom into a concise summation?”

Seventeen students and three faculty members from Colorado Christian University’s Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program recently returned from an international internship experience in Budapest, Hungary, where they provided trauma-informed support to Ukrainian refugees.

Sweeting served on the drafting committee for the Phoenix Declaration: An American Vision for Education, which outlines guiding principles to restore academic excellence, expand parental rights, and ensure transparency in U.S. schools.
